Above Monterey Bay explores the topographies of California’s Central Coast, translating coastlines, forests, agricultural fields, waterways and towns into abstract fields of color, shape and line.

Pink Dunes began with the colors and forms of the California coast — sand, water, vegetation and distant hills — and evolved into an exploration of landscape through abstraction. Rather than depicting a particular place, the paintings use unexpected color, simplified forms and shifting perspectives to evoke the feeling and memory of the coast.

The Reflections series explores the shifting relationship between water, light and landscape, as familiar forms dissolve into color, movement and pattern.

The title carries three meanings: the reflections we see on water; the inward reflection inherent in the creative process; and the way an artist's work inevitably reflects the influences that have shaped it.
